Know the Types of Cataracts and How to Overcome It?

       This type of cataract is divided by the place of its appearance, every kind of produce different shades of vision. Opacity in the view object is also determined from the type of cataract. So, what are the types of cataract?

  •      Nuclear Cataract - This cataract is attacking the center or the center of the lens, the sufferer may feel that their ability in reading seems to have improved. But actually slowly cataracts begin creating opaque coating on the lens, so the lens appear yellow-brown and ultimately affect a person's capacity to see colors.
  •      Cortical CataractThis cataract is attacked outside edge (cortex) lens and form a layer of white conical growing toward the center of the lens, sufferers also tend to feel glare.
  •      Posterior subcapsular Cataracts - This cataract override the rear lens and block the entry of light to the retina. Cataract layer initially small and opaque, it affects vision while reading or being in a bright room.
  •      Congenital Cataracts - This cataract overwrite newborns, can be caused by an infection that affects pregnant women. It is also associated with multisystemic disease (Myotonic dystrophy), metabolic disorders (galactosemia), Lowe syndrome or Rubbella.

It takes an eye exam to diagnose, whether or not you suffer from cataracts. This examination can be:

     Visual Acuity Test - check is performed with the help of the letter board, the patient will be required to cover one eye and read smaller letters.
     Slit Lamp Examination - examination is done with the help of light (Slit lamp) and a sort of magnifying device (Magnification). Such tools help clinicians to detect small objects that do not seem normal to the cornea, iris, lens, and the space between them.
     Retinal Examination - examination performed by administering eye drops which serves raising pupils. Sometimes other equipment such as Ophthalmoscope also needed in checking cataracts.

      An effective way to deal with all types of cataracts is surgical removal of a layer of cataract, but some people are skeptical about the side effects afterwards. It is better to consult your eye doctor, in order to ensure proper procedure.

      But, remember if your cataracts interfere with daily activities commonly performed, even harm you while driving is a good idea to perform the operation! According to the Mayo Clinic, said that the removal of cataract surgery is usually not harmful to the eyes, although still at risk!

       Delaying surgery is not always done well, remember that cataract slowly robs your vision. The longer you handle it, diminishing the ability of your vision. Then when it is advisable to consult a doctor? It depends on the condition that you are experiencing.
